Xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis (XGC) is a variant of chronic cholecystitis characterised by giant cells, foamy macrophages, and chronic inflammatory cell infiltration resulting in mass formation and adjacent organ invasion. These characteristics make it difficult to differentiate it from Gallbladder cancer (GBC). Our aim was to study the incidence of XGC mimicking a gallbladder mass in operated patients of GBC in a tertiary care centre. Materials and Methods All patients who have undergone surgery for operable GBC were included in the study and patients with histopathological confirmation of XGC were analyzed.
