Abstract

Migraine is an episodic neurological disease that can cause structural and functional changes in the cerebral cortex. It usually has recurrent headache attacks with transient neurological, gastrointestinal, autonomic, cognitive, vestibular and emotional symptoms (Headache Classification Committee of IHS, 2013, Valfrè W, 2008, Neeb L. 2017, Ferrari MD, 2015, Silberstein SD,2004). According to the World Health Organization, migraine ranks sixth among the most common health problems in the world and second among the diseases that limit activities of daily living (Vos T, Abajobir AA,2017). The prevalence of migraine, which affects 1.04 billion people worldwide, is 14.4% in total. This rate is 18.9% and 9.8% for female and male genders, respectively (Stovner LJ, 2018).
