Abstract

Abstract: Diabetic wounds are a popular health problem affecting 15% of diabetic individuals. Traditional treatment depends on understanding the relationship between diabetes and wound healing mechanisms. Recent studies tend to use natural products that possess active components for treatments. Luteolin is the most common flavonoids found in many medicinal plants. The study has also highlighted the recent advances in the therapeutic effect of luteolin, particularly, on diabetic wounds healing. Luteolin has demonstrated its anti-inflammatory effect through its impact on fibroblast cell proliferation and migration. Further studies are highly recommended to focus on luteolin as an antiinflammatory agent in human diabetic wounds healing.
