Abstract

Background :Mucormycosis is an Angioinvasive disease caused by mold fungi of genus Rhizopus, Mucor, Rhizomucor, Cunninghamella and Absidia of order Mucorales , Class Zygomycetes. Rhinocerebralmucormycosis is a rare but fatal infection of nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses.During second wave of Covid -19 in India (i.e from April 2021 to September 2021) there was sudden surge in number of Mucormycosis cases in patients of Covid- 19. Objective :To study the demographic data, risk factors for development, clinical presentation, intervention and management of mucormycosis.
