Role of MRI in rotator cuff injuries

Abstract

Background: The most common cause of shoulder pain is rotator cuff injury. In addition to history and clinical examination, rotator cuff assessment with a diagnostic test such as MRI or high resolution ultrasonography should be carried out. Materials and Methods: This is a hospital based cross sectional study in which all patients referred to the department of Radio Diagnosis (Chettinad health city) with clinically suspected rotator cuff injuries in a period of January 2015 – May 2016 were assesed. 30 patients referred to the department of Radio Diagnosis (Chettinad health city) with clinically suspected rotator cuff injuries in a period of 2 years were included according to the inclusion criteria
