Abstract

Rheumatological Diseases are known for their atypical presentations and so is the reason they are always underdiagnosed in most of the clinical scenarios. One such presentation is PRES in SLE(Prevelence 0.43%) which is female predominant(14:1 Feamle/Male Ratio), the ccurrence of which usually indicates poor prognosis. Case Presentation: 19 yr old female presented presented to Emergency Department with sudden onset tingling and numbness since 2 hrs followed by weakness of right upper and lower limb and thereaftergeneralisedtonic clonic type of seizures lasted for 10 min. On MRI Imaging T2/Flair hyperintensities were noted in B/L frontoperietal, occipital in cortico-subcortical location and left cerebellar hemisphere, suggestive of PRES. CONCLUSION - This case highlights the imperative assessment, early diagnosis, and treatment of PRES in SLE, and delayed management can lead to severe morbidity and mortality
