Osteoid osteomas have a male preponderance (approximate ratio of 3:1) and usually present in the second decade of life. The patients typically present with nocturnal pain which is relieved by the administration of NSAIDs, the cause of which is attributed to the vascular pressure and the production of prostaglandins in the nidus of the Osteoid osteoma. We present a case series of 4 children of spinal osteoid osteoma, who presented to our institute mainly with complaints of nonmechanical type of back pain, who on detailed clinical and radiological evaluation found to have osteoid osteoma.
