Maxillary tuberosity is present at the inferior aspect of the infratemporal surface of the maxilla. It is a spherical structure, more prominent after the development of the third molar. The pterygomaxillary fissure in vertical descends at right angle and is inferior to orbital fissure. Accurate localisation of maxillary tuberosity is imperative while negotiating the maxillary tuberosity oroantral communication.
