Background: Osteoarthritis of the knee is a common cause of pain and disability, especially in
the elderly.1 Osteoarthritis is a condition characterized by the progressive loss of articular
cartilage and remodeling of the underlying bone. OA affects almost all joints, but the most
commonly affected joints are the knee and hip joints. Objectives: Primary objective : To assess
the effect of hot water application with Epsom salt to reduce knee joint pain among women.
Secondary objectives:1. To assess the level of knee joint pain of urban women before hot water
application with Epsom salt. 2. To assess the effect of hot water application with Epsom salt to
reduce knee joint pain in osteoarthritis among urban women.3. To find out the association of
