Background & Method: The aim of this study is to study the Drain the pleural effusion under sonography guidance & estimate the quantity of drain volume in ml. All sonography examination was performed by experienced radiologist. Patient was examined in supine position with 15 degree mild trunk elevation with probe transversely placed in perpendicular to body axis in posterior axillary line, than observe pleural separation at base of lung, Maximum distance between parietal &visceral pleura at end expiration was recorded
