Background and objectives:A benign hamartomatous hyperplasia of lymphatic vessels is a lymphangioma. They are primarily congenital and are believed to be a deformity of developing vasculature that has poor communication with the healthy lymph system. The head and neck region accounts for three-quarters of all instances.
