Cardiac Conduction Block as Delay of Cardiac Impulse in Myocardial Infarction

Abstract

Various types of conduction blocks develop following ST segment elevation myocardial infarction. First-degree AV block occurs in 4 to 14% of patients withST segment elevation myocardial infarction, Mobitz type I second-degree AV block is observed in around 10% of patients with ST segment elevation myocardial infarction and which is transient in nature. Mobitz type II second-degree AV block observed in <1% of patients with ST segment elevation ST segment elevation myocardial infarction is important cardiac disease in present days. Patients of ST segment elevation myocardial infarction can develop different complications like conduction blocks, ventricular dysfunction,cardiogenic shock, mechanical complications, ventricular arrhythmias.1 Prognosis of ST segment elevation myocardial infarction patients developing complications is poor.
