Introduction: Maternal health refers to the health of women during pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period. The international healthcare community has considered the ideal rate for caesarean sections to be between 10% and 15%. There is a need to understand the possible factors of the high C-section rates in India. Methodology: A prospective study was carried out in maternity hospital for 6 months. Out of total caesarean sections, 500 subjects were studied after resorting to random sampling. A predesigned audit Proforma was used to study the caesarean delivery.
