Background: Chronic airway inflammation is a hallmark of asthma, but the usefulness of highsensitivity C-reactive protein tests (hs-CRP), which are known to be sensitive markers of lowgrade systemic inflammation, has not been thoroughly investigated in asthma. Estimation of blood hs-CRP levels in asthma patients and their correlation with clinical traits and levels of airway inflammation are the objectives of this study.
