Assessment of nutritional status and physical activity level among geriatric population in the urban field practice area of a medical college: A community based cross-sectional study

Abstract

Background: As the global population of elderly individuals rapidly increases, geriatric nutrition has emerged as a crucial area of research to manage the physical, psychological, and psychosocial changes associated with aging. This study aims to understand the relationship between socioeconomic status, nutritional status, and physical activity among geriatric individuals in India. Methodology: The Mini Nutritional Assessment Scale and the Physical Activity Scale for the Elderly were used to assess the nutritional and physical health of 114 community-based participants. Data was analysed by using SPSS.
