Abstract

Abstract The aims of this study were to compare the productivity of various rice varieties and to discover the variables that most influence crop output. We undertook this research to learn more about how to increase rice yield and productivity via breeding and agricultural practices. Researchers at Annamalai University in Annamalainagar, Tamil Nadu, India performed Studies on the Genetics of Yield and Yield Contributing Traits between 2018 and 2020 to better understand the mechanism of gene activity influencing yield and yield contributing characteristics in rice (Oryza sativa L.). The experiment included D2 analysis (53 genotypes), Line x Tester analysis (30 crossings), and Generation mean analysis (4 crosses) to assess genetic divergence by incorporating ability effects, heterosis, and gene action.
