Abstract

Background: The incidence of cardiac anomalies in patients with connective tissue disorders (CTD) and related risk factors are poorly understood in modern India. Methods: 35 consecutive CTD patients who presented to our outpatient department and had no substantial cardiovascular risk factors at baseline were prospectively tracked. We also kept track of data from controls who were matched for age and gender. Following normal investigations, echocardiography and a 12-lead electrocardiogram were performed on all patients and controls
