AbstractDiabetes mellitus is characterized by chronic hyperglycaemia with disturbances in carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism resulting from defects in insulin secretion, insulin action or both. Dyslipidaemia in diabetes commonly manifests as raised low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), decreased high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels or elevated triglyceride (TG) levels. Many studies have proposed HbA1c to be used as a biomarker of both glycaemic control and dyslipidaemia in type 2 diabetes mellitus. Study aimed to observe the lipid profile in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients and to find out the correlation between glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c), FBS and lipid profile in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients.
