Background: One of the more typical hernias in adults is the paraumbilical hernia. Since paraumbilical hernias are more common in women (sex ratio F:M = 3:1), this study evaluating risk factors and management of paraumbilical hernias is well justified. Paraumbilical hernias might disturb these patients not only because of their problems but also because of the cosmetic viewpoint. This clinical study assesses the clinical characteristics, risk factors, surgical approaches, and postoperative results of adult paraumbilical hernias.
