Abstract

Background: Few studies have looked into the possible link between renal function and highdensity lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) in elderly people with primary hypertension. As a result, the current study's goal was to assess the link between HDL-C and renal function in senior hypertension patients. Methods: In our cross-sectional study, a total of 14,644 senior hypertension individuals were included. The patients were divided into two groups based on their serum HDL-C levels and their glomerular filtration rate (GFR) values. To compare the parameters among the groups, a one-way analysis of variance was employed. For multiple comparisons, the Bonferroni correction was used. Confounding influences were controlled using an analysis of covariance. The chi-square test for categorical data was used to examine the significance of differences between three or more groups.
