Abstract The gonadal cycle constitutes a significant biological parameter to be investigated in the fields of Anabas testudineusreproductive biology and ecology and fisheries science. Maturity data may also be used to carry out temporary analysis of fish stocks' life-history characteristics. Maturity data was often used to characterise the species' gondola cycle and to track long-term transition in the reproductive cycle. That's why, according to the reproductive plan of the genus, the maturity stage should be calculated. In the current research, the gonadal cycle is observed by Anabas testudineus to maturity. The ripeness scales should ideally be based on quantitative and universal gonadal properties, which are measured macroscopically since they are less costly and labour intensive than microscope maturity stadiums.. The rate of ripeness should be standardised.
