A hospital based prospective observational assessment of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein levels in subjects with type 2 diabetes mellitus

Abstract

Aim: The aim of the present study to determine the high-sensitivity C-Reactive protein levels in subjects with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: This prospective observational study was carried out in the Department of General Medicine, Rama Medical College, Mandhana for the period of 15 months. The study was undertaken on 80 type 2 Diabetes mellitus and 80 normal healthy controls. All the patients were advised to fast overnight. Blood samples were collected in fasting condition. 5ml venous blood was collected from each subject and it was transferred to the Plain tube and serum is separated by centrifugation and stored at -20 oC for measured.
